We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th rankedKyiv Basket (6-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Polit-Halychyna (6-6) 63-51 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 35-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Polit-Halychyna held Kyiv Basket to an opponent 21.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Polit-Halychyna made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Yaroslav Karpiuk (201-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Quentin Deshon (200-1993, college: Lancaster Bible) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Polit-Halychyna's coach Yaroslav Zubrytskyy used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Igor Starodub (182-1997) who recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Marcanvis Hymon (203-1995, college: Ole Miss) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Polit-Halychyna moved-up to sixth place. Kyiv Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost.
