There was no surprise when 5th rankedLoewen (1-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Braunschweig (5-3) 83-70 on Sunday. Braunschweig dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Loewen 's 38. Braunschweig forced 28 Loewen turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Braunschweig made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikola Tomic (195-2005) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 blocks and Jalen Moon (186-2006) who added 12 points during the contest. Braunschweig's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Leonar Fliege responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Lenny Dittmar scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Loewen players scored in double figures. Braunschweig moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loewen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Sudhessen.
