There was an upset when higher rankedCayirova (6-9) lost to bottom-ranked Ankaragucu (2-13) in Kocaeli 111-119 on Sunday. Ankaragucu forced 19 Cayirova turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) who led the winners and scored 32 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import center Justin Briggs (208-1997, college: Chico St.) accounted for 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Diante Watkins (175-1990, college: RMU, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international Ilkan Karaman (205-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) added 22 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Cayirova in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ankaragucu maintains eighteenth place with 2-13 record. Newly promoted Cayirova dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with 7 other teams.
