There was no surprise when 17th rankedHakro Merlins (2-9) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Brose Bamberg (5-6) 97-87 on Monday. Bamberg looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Crailsheim 's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Zach Copeland (193-1997, college: Illinois St.) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 9 assists. The former international center Filip Stanic (206-1998) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American point guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) came up with 27 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward James Murray-Boyles (200-1997, college: UNCP, agency: Players Group) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Crailsheim in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bamberg moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Oldenburg and Rostock. Loser Hakro Merlins keeps the seventeenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Heidelberg.
