Hamburg (#5) was upset in Bonn by eighth ranked Bonn 108-94 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hamburg Towers. Telekom Baskets shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by point guard Glynn Watson Jr (183-1997, college: Nebraska) who scored that evening 29 points and 9 assists and guard Brian Fobbs (196-1998, college: Towson, agency: TSEG) supported him with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 22 points and 5 assists by guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) did not help to save the game for Hamburg Towers . Forward VJ King (198-1997, college: Louisville, agency: Octagon Europe) added 23 points. Five Telekom Baskets and four Hamburg Towers players scored in double figures. Hamburg Towers' coach let to play ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bonn (8-5) moved-up to third place. Hamburg at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg and Vechta.
