Regular Season Round 15: Cerkezkoy - Urla 53-58

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Cerkezkoy (6-9) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Urla (6-9) 58-53 on Saturday. Urla forced 21 Cerkezkoy turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Angela Tompkins (188-1991, college: Wichita St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds. Hilal Bayraktar (163-2000) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Ionna McKenzie (188-1996, college: Texas Tech) with 8 points and 17 rebounds and Sevval Oyan (-1998) scored 20 points. Urla moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Cerkezkoy. Urla will meet higher ranked Ferhatoglu (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cerkezkoy will play against Mersin G. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
