Very expected game when 14th rankedHanau (2-12) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Giessen (10-4) 91-61 on Saturday. Giessen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Naturalized Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (198-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Naturalized American Elijah Allen (194-1989, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Giessen players scored in double figures. Point guard Niklas Kitchens (186-2004) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Ghanian forward Cedric Quarshie (194-1983) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Giessen moved-up to third place, which they share with Reutlingen. Hanau lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost.
