There was a small surprise when seventeenth rankedBalikesir (7-11) won against at home 14th ranked Ormanspor (7-11) 84-75 on Saturday. Balikesir outrebounded Ormanspor 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Alihan Genc (189-1998) notched 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Umit Sonkol (206-1982) supported him with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Five Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Fahri Guler used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 29 points by American guard Ian Miller (191-1991, college: FSU) did not help to save the game for Ormanspor . His fellow American import center Eric Buckner (208-1990, college: Georgia St.) added 8 points and 10 rebounds. Balikesir moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Ormanspor .
