Rather expected game in Ramnicu Valcea where 9th rankedFocsani (1-13) was defeated by sixth ranked Rm Valcea (7-8) 96-84 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-84. Rm Valcea dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Focsani 's 36. They outrebounded Focsani 46-25 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rm Valcea looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Stephaun Branch (196-1995, college: UWG, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Isaiah Williams (188-1995, college: Georgia St.) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) who recorded 27 points and Serbian point guard Pavle Reljic (193-1993) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Rm Valcea and four Focsani players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rm Valcea . Newly promoted Rm Valcea maintains sixth place with 7-8 record. Focsani lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost.
