Regular Season Round 14: Rist Wedel - BSW Sixers 109-62

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengersSixers (8-6) were outplayed on the road by eighth ranked Rist Wedel (8-6) 109-62 on Sunday. Rist Wedel dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sixers ' 28 and made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Rist Wedel outrebounded BSW Sixers 53-21 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rist Wedel looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BSW Sixers ' players. The best player for the winners was Swedish Daniel Johansson (201-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American forward Camron Reece (201-1999, college: Talladega) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: FPU) produced 13 points and point guard Nico Wenzl (184-2001) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Rist Wedel moved-up to third place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated BSW Sixers . BSW Sixers lost third consecutive game. Rist Wedel will meet Iserlohn (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BSW Sixers will play against the league's second-placed Schwelm (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
