There was no surprise in Rostock where 11th rankedSSV Lok Bernau (5-10) was edged by ninth ranked Seawolves 2 (7-8) 116-115 on Saturday. Rostock II forced 23 Bernau turnovers. Strangely Bernau outrebounded Rostock II 49-35 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rostock II looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Branden Maughmer (190-1999, college: Morehead St., agency: Helping Ballers) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Forward Toni Nickel (204-2001) helped adding 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Croatian forward Emilio Banic (197-1993) with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and center Akim-Jamal Jonah (210-1998, college: San Diego) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Rostock II maintains ninth place with 7-8 record, which they share with Fellbach. Bernau at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
