Regular Season Round 17: Oradea - Rm Valcea 91-77

Liga Nationala top team - Oradea (14-2) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Rm Valcea (7-9) 91-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rm Valcea. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Rm Valcea managed to win second period 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and the former international Nicolae-Bogdan Nicolescu (199-1997) accounted for 20 points. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Nigerian-Italian center Peter Olisemeka (207-1991) came up with 8 points and 13 rebounds and Belarusian-Moldovan forward Vladislav Solopa (202-1995) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Rm Valcea in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Oradea. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Newly promoted Rm Valcea keeps the sixth position with nine games lost.
