There was no surprise when 10th rankedPloiesti CSU (4-10) was outleveled by leader Steaua (13-0) in Bucuresti 93-60 on Sunday. The game without a history. Steaua led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ploiesti CSU 's 40. Steaua forced 19 Ploiesti CSU turnovers and outrebounded them 51-29 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Steaua looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Ploiesti CSU 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Steaua made 10 blocks. American guard BJ Fitzgerald (198-2000, college: Virginia St.) nailed 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and center Marian Duica (198-2002, agency: BIG) accounted for 9 points and 8 rebounds. Andrei Badicioiu (-2007) came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ionut Neagu added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Ploiesti CSU in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Steaua have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Loser Ploiesti CSU keeps the tenth position with ten games lost.
