Rather expected game when 9th rankedBayreuth (9-10) was smashed by sixth ranked 46ers (12-8) in Giessen 100-72 on Saturday. Giessen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Bayreuth 's 24 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Giessen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Duane Wilson (190-1994, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners and scored 23 points. His fellow American import point guard TreVion Crews (183-1996, college: Bethel, IN) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four 46ers players scored in double figures. Coach Branislav Ignjatovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Iranian point guard Philip Jalalpoor (188-1993, college: UBC, agency: Blacktop Management) came up with 18 points and 4 assists and American forward Esa Ahmad (203-1996, college: WVU) added 17 points respectively for Bayreuth in the defeat. Giessen moved-up to fifth place. Bayreuth lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven and Dresden.
