Very expected game when 16th rankedSamsun (3-15) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Manisa (10-8) 77-71 on Saturday. Samsunspor was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Manisa forced 19 Samsun turnovers. The best player for the winners was American Ryan Luther (206-1995, college: Arizona) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) chipped in 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Maltese point guard Eric Washington (183-1993, college: Miami, OH) who recorded 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and American center Michale Kyser (208-1991, college: La Tech) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Manisa maintains fifth position with 10-8 record. Newly promoted Samsunspor stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost.
