There was no surprise when 10th rankedPloiesti CSU (4-11) lost at home to second ranked Agronomia (10-3) 75-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Agronomia. Ploiesti CSU managed to win second period 17-13 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Agronomia forced 19 Ploiesti CSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ploiesti CSU 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Agronomia made 8 blocks. David Fometescu notched 17 points to lead the effort and Meir Azaria (189-2000) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 10 points and 7 rebounds by forward Alin Carabulea (-1998) did not help to save the game for Ploiesti CSU . Teodor Barbuceanu (-1991) added 13 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Agronomia maintains second position with 10-3 record behind leader Steaua B. Loser Ploiesti CSU keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost.
