There was no surprise when 16th rankedKocaeli (7-14) was outleveled by second ranked Sigortam.net (17-4) in Izmit 81-57 on Monday. Sigortam.net looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Berkay Bayar (196-1999) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Keith Stone (206-1997, college: Miami, FL) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard JaCori Payne (180-1996, college: Columbus St.) added 19 points respectively for Kocaeli in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sigortam.net . They maintain second place with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader Yalovaspor. Kocaeli lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Balikesir.
