Very expected game when 6th rankedUBC St. Poelten (12-8) was smashed on the road by second ranked Gmunden Swans (15-4) 85-65 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gmunden led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gmunden Swans had a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gmunden Swans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 assists and the former international forward Toni Blazan (197-1992, agency: Mansfield and Associates) supported him with 20 points. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by Nigerian forward Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson (203, college: Rider) did not help to save the game for UBC St. Poelten . American guard MJ Randolph (193-1999, college: FAMU) added 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Gmunden have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-4 record having four points less than leader Klosterneuburg. Loser UBC St. Poelten keeps the sixth place with eight games lost.
