Very predictable result in Kaunas where third rankedVKKM (10-5) defeated 8th ranked Perkunas (7-8) 73-63 on Sunday. Perkunas was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-9 charge of VKKM, which allowed them to win the game. VKKM outrebounded Perkunas 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. VKKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Paulius Narvilas (200-2006) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Matas Staugaitis (200-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Four VKKM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mantas Laurencikas (189-2006) who recorded 17 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and point guard Martynas Barzdaitis (174-2007) added 10 points respectively. VKKM maintains third place with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris, which they share with Panevezio and VKM. Loser Perkunas dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Gargzdu SM.
