Everything went according to plan when fourth rankedMersin (17-7) outleveled at home 13th ranked Fenerbahce 2 (9-15) 94-66 on Saturday. Mersin looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American Gerel Simmons (189-1993, college: LMU, agency: Diamond Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Forward Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-1990) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mersin players scored in double figures. American forward Ed Croswell (203-1999, college: Providence) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Kutay Odabasi (-2004) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Mersin . They maintain fourth place with 17-7 record. Loser Fenerbahce 2 dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Ormanspor and Ankaragucu.
