Regular Season Round 17: Perkunas - Tornado KM 73-86

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kaunas:Tornado KM (#2) and Perkunas (#8). Perkunas was defeated at home 73-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Tornado KM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas ' 24. Tornado KM players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Swingman Orestas Seputis (193-2006) stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Armandas Bancevicius (203-2006) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. Point guard Paulius Lukasevicius (181-2006) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Dominykas Grunkis (164-2007) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tornado KM . They maintain second place with 15-2 record behind leader Zalgiris. Perkunas lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Utenos.
