Fifth-rankedVKM (10-7) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Zalgiris (16-1) in Vilniaus on Tuesday. The visitors from Kaunas managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78 . However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 23-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Power forward Martynas Kancevicius (204-2006) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 21 rebounds. Point guard Nedas Vydmantas (186-2006) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Zalgiris' coach Tomas Bakanauskas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Mantas Liutkevicius (185-2007) answered with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Grantas Strelciunas (185-2007) added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for VKM. Zalgiris have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. VKM at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with SKM I.
