There was no surprise in Giessen where 7th rankedLions (13-11) were defeated by fifth ranked 46ers (16-9) 88-75 on Friday. Giessen outrebounded Karlsruhe PS 38-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Duane Wilson (190-1994, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Stefan Fundic (200-1994) who added 6 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Melvin Jostmann (201-2000) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Australian point guard Lachlan Dent (184-2000) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Giessen maintains fifth position with 16-9 record. Loser Lions keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Muenster.
