There was no surprise when 7th rankedBrasov (2-12) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Cluj Napoca (7-7) 84-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cluj Napoca. Brasov managed to win third quarter 23-21 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cluj Napoca dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brasov 's 42 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Brasov 41-23 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cluj Napoca looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international power forward Elisabeth Pavel (190-1990) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian center Veronika Liubinets (192-1999) chipped in 24 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. American center Shalaunda Burney-Robinson (193, college: FAMU) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Bianca Nan (183-2001) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cluj Napoca moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Targoviste. Loser Brasov keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost.
