The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedGladiators (21-5) in Quakenbrueck on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventeenth ranked Artland Dragons (7-19) 97-90 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gladiators. Artland looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Brandon Thomas (198-1984, college: UMass, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Artland Dragons' coach Julien Patrick Flomo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (196-1995, agency: BIG) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Moritz Krimmer (202-2000) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Artland moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Duesseldorf. Trier at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost.
