There was a small surprise in Rovinari where fifteenth rankedPloiesti CSM (5-6) beat 12th ranked Targu Jiu (8-3) 81-75 on Saturday. Targu Jiu trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 25-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-81 at the end of the game. Ploiesti CSM made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Serbian center Veljko Brkic (206-1995) stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American Kenney Funderburk (193-1992, college: Columbus St.) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Ploiesti CSM players scored in double figures. American power forward Jalen Dupree (205-1998, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Bosnian swingman Milan Luzaic (195-1996) scored 15 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Targu Jiu's coach Kresimir Basic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ploiesti CSM maintains fifteenth place with 5-6 record. Loser Targu Jiu keeps the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with Timisoara.
