Regular Season Round 23: Rostock - ALBA 75-76
Date: March 10, 2024
Fifteenth-rankedSeawolves (6-16) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked ALBA Berlin (15-5) in Rostock on Sunday. The visitors from Berlin managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75 . However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized New Zealand center Yannick Wetzell (206-1996, college: SDSU) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American guard Sterling Brown (197-1995, college: SMU) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) came up with 28 points and the other American import swingman Eric Lockett (196-1995, college: NC State) added 5 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Rostock in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. ALBA Berlin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 15-5 record. Rostock lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. ALBA will meet at home Tuebingen (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rostock will play against Heidelberg and hope to secure a win.
