Regular Season Round 19: VKM - Utenos 117-119

Important game to mention about took place in Vilniaus. Seventh rankedUtenos (9-10) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked VKM (11-8) 119-117 on Tuesday evening. It looked good early as VKM took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Utenos had a 28-18 second period charge getting the lead and VKM was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 117-119. Utenos made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Titas Didzgalvis (181-2006) who helped to win the game recording 44 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Guard Adrijus Totoris (186-2006) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Grantas Strelciunas (185-2007) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and guard Dziugas Remeikis (190-2006) added 24 points and 9 assists in the effort for VKM. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Utenos . They maintain seventh place with 9-10 record. VKM at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with SKM I.
