Thirteenth-rankedVechta-2 (10-17) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked 46ers (19-9). The visitors from Giessen managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88 . However their fans expected much easier game. Giessen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Vechta-2 's 28. It was a good game for center Jonathan Maier (211-1992) who saved his team from a defeat with 17 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Duane Wilson (190-1994, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Joshua Bonga (190-2005) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and point guard Kevin Smit (182-1991) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Vechta 2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vechta-2's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. 46ers have a solid series of four victories in a row. Giessen maintains fourth place with 19-9 record. Newly promoted Vechta 2 dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Nuernberg.
