Rather predictable result in Weissenfels where thirteenth rankedMBC (8-16) defeated bottom-ranked Hakro Merlins (4-20) 98-93 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Weissenfels made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Johnathan Stove (193-1995, college: Louisiana) who scored 25 points. Martin Breunig (203-1992, college: Montana) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Stove is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward James Murray-Boyles (200-1997, college: UNCP, agency: Players Group) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Galin Smith (204-1998, college: Maryland) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Weissenfels and four Crailsheim players scored in double figures. Hakro Merlins' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Weissenfels maintains thirteenth position with 8-16 record. Crailsheim lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom.
