There was a small surprise whenPolitehnica Iasi (4-5) smashed at home Craiova 2 (4-4) 118-66 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Politehnica Iasi. Craiova 2 managed to win third quarter 26-23 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politehnica Iasi dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova 2 's 28. Politehnica Iasi forced 30 Craiova 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 54-26 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Jordan Swopshire (201-1995, college: Colgate) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Teodor Boghean helped adding 30 points and 10 rebounds. Swopshire is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Politehnica Iasi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Robert Licurici (188-2003, agency: BIG) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Teodor Popescu (-2005) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
