Everything went according to plan when sixteenth rankedFocsani (5-9) defeated at home bottom-ranked Laguna S. (1-13) 89-82 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 31-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Focsani made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American guard Sherwood Brown (193-1991, college: FGCU) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Justin Baker (203-1989, college: Utah Valley) accounted for 23 points. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Bosnian-Croatian power forward Sandro Antunovic (208-1998) came up with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Saeed Nelson (188-1998, college: American) added 20 points respectively for Laguna S. in the defeat. Five Focsani and four Laguna S. players scored in double figures. Focsani maintains sixteenth place with 5-9 record. Laguna S. lost their fifth game in a row.
