Not a big story in a game when 17th rankedGalati (3-11) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Ploiesti CSM (8-6) 103-89 on Friday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning next two quarters and won the game by 14 points. Ploiesti CSM shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Ploiesti CSM outrebounded Galati 31-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Ploiesti CSM especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Kenney Funderburk (193-1992, college: Columbus St.) nailed 29 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Serbian center Veljko Brkic (206-1995) accounted for 25 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Bobby Planutis (203, college: PFW) came up with 21 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Marius Ciotlaus (195-1996, agency: BIG) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Galati in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galati's coach Florin Nini rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ploiesti CSM . They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Timisoara. Loser Galati keeps the seventeenth position with 11 games lost.
