Date: April 6, 2024
The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Leverkusen (20-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by eighth ranked SSV Lok Bernau (11-15) 79-60. Bernau outrebounded Leverkusen 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Center Akim-Jamal Jonah (210-1998, college: San Diego) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian forward Emilio Banic (197-1993) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and point guard Marius Stoll (197-1999) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bernau moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rostock II.
