There was a small surprise in Rostock where seventeenth rankedHakro Merlins (8-25) defeated 15th ranked Seawolves (9-24) 85-70 . Hakro Merlins brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Tremmell Darden (194-1981, college: Niagara) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and forward Galin Smith (204-1998, college: Maryland) accounted for 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Hakro Merlins players scored in double figures. Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Chevez Goodwin (206-1998, college: USC, agency: BIG) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Rostock in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crailsheim moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Heidelberg. Rostock at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 24 games lost.
