There was a minor upset in Odenthal where 7th rankedSaarlouis (3-3) were defeated by tenth ranked Rheinland (2-4) 84-71 on Friday. Leverkusen made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Saarlouis only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Saarlouis 44-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Lisa Koop (197-1985, college: Winthrop) chipped in 7 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Rheinland's coach Boris Kaminski used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American swingman Taya Corosdale (190-1999, college: Duke) with 17 points and Finnish guard Roosa Lehtoranta (176-1997, agency: LBM Management) scored 15 points. Leverkusen moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Veilchen. Loser Saarlouis dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
