Round 2 most important game was a victory of Ostrava over Sokol 72-54 on Saturday night. Ostrava outrebounded Sokol 52-28 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Sokol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Rayven Peeples (192-2000, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Michaela Vackova (179-1993) contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Ostrava's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tereza Kralova (184-2001) replied with 8 points and 9 rebounds for Sokol. Ostrava is looking forward to face Triglav in Kranj in the next round. Sokol will play on the road against Piestanske C. in Piestany and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Another exciting game for Czech Brandys n. L. which played in Banska Bystrica against Slovakian Slavia. Brandys n. L. won 73-69. Power forward Alena Hanusova (191-1991) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and Irena Vrancic chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Brandys n. L.'s coach used entire bench in such tough game. Liana Uzovicova (179-2004) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Brandys n. L. will play against UBI Graz on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Slavia will play against Ruzomberok to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game between Slovakian Piestanske C. and Slovenian Triglav in Piestany on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Piestanske C. outscored guests from Kranj 78-28. Rita Igbokwe notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 10 points by Lena Grebenc did not help to save the game for Triglav. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piestanske C. will meet at home Sokol in the next round where they are favorite. Triglav will play against Ostrava and hope to win that game.
In the last game of round 2 winless UBI Graz lost to undefeated Ruzomberok on the road 43-70.
