The biggest surprise of round 12 in Premijer Liga was guest Zagreb's (9-3) easy road victory over one of their biggest challengers Ragusa (8-4) 83-66 on Saturday evening. Zagreb forced 20 Ragusa turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Ragusa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian power forward Laura Zelnyte (193-1994) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Lea Hajdin (183-1998) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Iva Todoric (174-1993) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Zagreb moved-up to fourth place. Ragusa lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Zagreb are looking forward to face Rijeka (#7) at home in the next round. Ragusa will play against Zadar Plus and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sibenik (10-2) against seventh ranked Rijeka (6-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Sibenik was defeated by Rijeka in a tough game in Rijeka 67-74. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Sibenik. It was a good game for Anja Konjevic (186-1994) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Marijana Zukanovic contributed with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Rijeka's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Bendu Yeaney (178-1998, college: Oregon St.) replied with 28 points and 9 rebounds for Sibenik. Rijeka maintains seventh position with 6-6 record. Sibenik at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Tresnjevka. Rijeka will play against higher ranked Zagreb (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sibenik will play against Split and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Worth to mention a quality performance of Ana-Marija Begic who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Sam Deem with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Zadar's coach Luka Bujas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Brod na Savi (11-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Zadar keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Brod na Savi will meet KAZL Split (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zadar will play against Pozega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
