Moldova - Denmark 35-146
Denmark coasted past Moldova to finish the group stage undefeated. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. Marian Sheikh (178-F-94, college: Indiana St.) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the Danish team. Denmark held Moldova to just 10 points in the first half and cruised to the victory afterwards. Camilla Frommelt (166-G-92) and Ida Krogh (183-G-91) added 19 points each for the winners. Margarita Schitco (182-PF-87) answered with 14 points for Moldova.
Malta - Gibraltar 71-32
Malta smashed Gibraltar to finish second in Group A. Stephanie De Martino (184-F-93) and Christina Grima (175-G/F-89) scored 13 points each to lead the winners. Malta posted a 31:13 halftime lead. They sank 40 points in the second half to coast to the victory. Josephine Grima (193-C-84) had 12 points in the win. Joelle Moreno (165-G/F-88, college: Cardiff Archers) answered with 11 points for Gibraltar.
Group B
Ireland - Cyprus 73-54
Ireland wrapped up the group stage in Cork on a high note. The hosts held off Cyprus to improve at 1-2 record. Fiona O'Dwyer (182-F-91, college: Emmanuel, MA) and Sarah Woods (174-G-88) came up with 14 points each for the hosts. Ireland posted a 32:26 halftime advantage. Ireland went on a 25:15 run in the fourth period to seal the victory. Claire Rockall (178-G-90, college: Iowa St.) delivered 13 points for the winners. Chara Roussaki (179-F-87) answered with 14 points for Cyprus.
Luxembourg - Norway 66-39
Luxembourg fired past Norway to clinch the top spot in Group B. Anne Simon tossed in 16 points for the winning side. Luxembourg led by just one point at halftime 28:27. But they went on a 21:6 surge in the third period to clear off for good. Nadia Mossong (182-F-86, college: E.Kentucky) had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Tori Halvorsen (183-C-88, college: American) answered with 17 points for Norway.
