Spain - Montenegro 78-57

Spain recorded the first win at the 2023 EuroBasket. They overcame Montenegro to improve at 1-1 record in Group A. Maria Conde (187-F-1997, college: FSU) nailed 20 points and pulled down 6 rebounds to pace the winners.
Spain dominated in the first half. They recorded a 19-14 lead after ten minutes. Spain extended the lead in the second frame. They established a 42-29 halftime advantage. Montenegro revived the intrigue in the third period. The Balkan team went on a 22-10 run to pull within one point at the final intermission. But Spain bounced back with a 26-6 rally in the fourth stanza to ice the victory. Alba Torrens (188-G/F-1989) notched 11 points in the win. Marija Lekovic (170-PG-2003) answered with 15 points, while Milica Jovanovic (189-F-1989) had 13 points in the loss.
