Iceland - Portugal 62-60

Iceland wrapped up their 2027 EuroBasket Qualifiers on a high note. They nipped visiting Portugal for the first win in Group G. Sara Hinriksdottir (185-F-1996, college: Canisius) and Danielle Rodriguez (177-G-1993, college: Utah) scored five points in a row late in regulation to give the hosts a 61-59 lead. Danielle Rodriguez then sealed the deal with a free throw. Danielle Rodriguez finished with 20 points, while Sara Hinriksdottir added 16 points for the home side.
Portugal led by five points after ten minutes 19-14. But Iceland responded with a 17-11 run in the second frame to eke out a 31-30 halftime advantage. Iceland extended the lead in the third term. The hosts entered the fourth stanza up by 5 points. Portugal erased the deficit in the final frame as Lavinia da Silva made it 59-56 for the visitors. But Sara Hinriksdottir and Danielle Rodriguez came up with key buckets for Iceland to seal the win.
Sara Guerreiro (178-G-2001, college: CSU) accounted for 12 points for Portugal.
