EuroBasket 2023: Montenegro hold off Latvia

Montenegro - Latvia 61-58

Montenegro recorded the second win in Tel Aviv. They overcame Latvia to finish at 2-1 record in Group A. Natasha Mack (193-C/F-1997, college: OK State, agency: LBM Management) produced 22 points and 20 rebounds for the Balkan team.
Latvia recorded a 16-12 lead after ten minutes. The Baltic team extended the lead to 6 points at halftime 30-24. But Montenegro responded with a 21-10 run in the third term to take a 5-point lead at the final intermission. Montenegro stretched the lead to as many as 8 points midway through the fourth term. Latvia cut the deficit in the dying seconds but could not avoid the loss. Jelena Vucetic (178-G-1993) had 11 points for Montenegro. Anete Steinberga (190-C-1990, college: UTEP) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds for Latvia.
