Emma Meesseman (192-C-1993, agency: LBM Management) tallied 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to propel Belgium past France in 2023 EuroBasket semifinal. Belgium set the tone early in the game. They went on an 18-8 lead after ten minutes. Belgium sank 26 points in the second stanza to gain a 14-point halftime lead 44-30. Les Bleues stiffened defensively in the third term. They limited Belgium to 10 points to pull within 8 points at the final break. France got within striking distance late in regulation. Marieme Badiane (190-F/C-1994) put France within two points 63-65. But Julie Allemand (173-PG-1996, agency: LBM Management) sank two free throws and sealed the win for the winning side. Julie Vanloo (172-PG-1993) tallied 18 points in the victory. Sandrine Gruda (193-C-1987) responded with 17 points for France.
