Groups drawn for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025

The stage is now set for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025, as participants discovered their opponents for the 40th edition of the flagship competition during Saturday's draw at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece. The 16 national teams set to compete at the Final Round were split into four groups of four teams, as per the seedings, which were assigned based on the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by Nike.FIBA EuroBasket and FIBA Women's EuroBasket legends Dimitris Diamantidis and Sandrine Gruda, winners of the respective competitions, assisted in drawing the teams, with the ceremony held on International Women's Day. Among those in attendance at the event, hosted by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, were Greece's Attica Region Governor Nikos Chardalias, General Secretary for Sport Georgios Mavrotas, President of the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos, FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa, FIBA President Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Executive Director Europe Kmail Novak, as well as delegations from the four co-hosts.
The groups are as follows:
Group A: France, Türkiye, Greece, Switzerland

Group D: Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden

The tournament co-hosts Czechia, Germany, Italy and Greece were already pre-assigned for the draw with Group A played in Piraeus, Greece, Group B in Bologna, Italy, Group C in Brno, Czechia and Group D in Hamburg, Germany. Defending champions Belgium will begin their title defense in Czechia, opening their campaign against the tournament debutantes Portugal in what promises to be a tough test for the newcomers.FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 will commence on June 18, with the champions crowned at the iconic Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus, Greece on June 29, 2025.
