Henri Kantonen (ex Kataja) is a newcomer at Pitesti

FC Arges Pitesti (Liga Nationala) added 28-year-old Finnish international shooting guard Henri Kantonen (198cm-94kg-1997, agency: Blacktop Management) to their roster for the 2026-27 season. Kantonen, who was the assist leader at Kataja in the Finnish Korisliiga last season, averaged 12.3ppg, 5.3rpg, and 5.1apg in 47 games. He helped Kataja reach the Finnish League final and was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Finnish League Honorable Mention and All-Domestic Players Team. In the 2024-25 season, Kantonen played for another Finnish team, Helsinki Seagulls.
He has also been a member of the Finnish international program for some years. He has played regularly for the Finnish senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2017.
Kantonen also represented Finland at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia three years ago. During this event he scored an average of 0.8 points per game and had rebounds per game.
He has also played in France (Aix Maurienne), Lithuania (Mazeikiai), and Finland (Kouvot, Vilpas, Karhubasket, Kouvot Akatemia, and Jarvenpaa).
He was selected to Eurobasket.com Finnish Korisliiga All-Domestic Players Team in 2020.
