Michael Pietrzyk claims Finnish 1st Division A weekly honour

Talented Michael Pietrzyk (198-G-2004) put on an amazing game in the last round for Aanekosken Huima and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents 1st Division A Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 22-year old guard had the game-high 32 points adding five rebounds for Huima in his team's victory, helping them to edge out LrNMKY (#11, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 88-85. Huima maintains the 8th position in Finnish 1st Division A. Huima is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Pietrzyk had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Huima's top player in his first season with the team. Pietrzyk has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 28.5ppg) and averages solid 68.4% FGP and 57.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Leon Ounap (188-PG-2006) of Jyvaskyla Basketball Academy. Ounap impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as JBA was edged by Pantterit (1-1) 94-90. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Ounap is well-known by JBA fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.5ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 13.0rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Jalen Charity (201-F) of Lappeenrannan NMKY (#11). Charity scored 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Charity's great performance the LrNMKY lost 85-88 to Huima (#8, 1-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. LrNMKY can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Charity has individually a great season in Finland. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.0ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (4th best).
