Finnish 1st Division A round 23 best performance: James Rojas (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward James Rojas (201-F-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kipina Aanekoski, receiving a Hoops Agents 1st Division A Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Pyrinto Ak.A (#8, 7-15) 108-99. Kipina maintains the 4th position in Finnish 1st Division A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kipina will need more victories to improve their 15-7 record. In the team's last game Rojas had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Kipina's top player in his first season with the team. James Rojas averages this season 21.7ppg and 16.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Bulgarian Angel Mavrodiev (183-G-1991) of Raholan Pyrkiva Tampere. Mavrodiev had a very good evening with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led RaPy to another comfortable win 108-91 over slightly lower-ranked Huima (#7, 10-12) being unquestionably team leader. RaPy's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mavrodiev is one of the most experienced players at RaPy and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Roni Ahvenjarvi (197-F) of Pyrinto Tampere (#8). Ahvenjarvi got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for four assists. Despite Ahvenjarvi's great performance the Pyrinto lost 99-108 to the higher-ranked Kipina (#4, 15-7). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Pyrinto not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ahvenjarvi could try to bring Pyrinto Ak.A's a little bit higher in the standings. Ahvenjarvi has individually a great season in Finland. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.6ppg (8th best).
