Kion Williams claims Finnish 1st Division A Hoops Agents weekly honour

Kion Williams (187-G-2003) put on an amazing game in the last round for Pyrinto Tampere and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents 1st Division A Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 22-year old guard had the game-high 22 points adding eight rebounds and eight assists for Pyrinto Ak.A in his team's victory, helping them to crush LrNMKY (#11, 2-11) with 25-point margin 106-81. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Pyrinto moved-up to the 9th position in Finnish 1st Division A. Pyrinto is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-9 record. In the team's last game Williams had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He has many years of experience at Pyrinto, through which he has constantly improved. Kion Williams averages just after two games 22.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 9.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Caleb Jones-McCrary (203-F/C-2000) of second-ranked KaU Koris Karkkila. Jones-McCrary impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led Karkkila to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked LrNMKY (#11, 2-11) 102-63. Karkkila's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 10 matches. Jones-McCrary is a newcomer at Karkkila and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Shawn Montague (199-F) of Raiders Basket Jarvenpaa (#12). Montague showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Montague's great performance the Raiders Basket lost 89-95 to the higher-ranked HNMKY (#7, 7-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Raiders Basket can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-12 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Montague has individually a great season in Finland. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 8.9rpg (8th best). He also has 1.6bpg and a FGP of 51.3%.
