Chalon wins 2011/2012 title in the country. The team overcame Le Mans 95:76 in the Final game and triumphs in France. The game was mostly controlled by Chalon/Saor. Le Mans managed to win third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Blake Schilb (200-F/G-83, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices, college: Loyola, IL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Malcolm Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Ilian Evtimov (201-F-83, agency: Interperformances, college: N.Carolina St.) nailed 15, while Steed Tchicamboud (193-G-81) added 14. Marcellus Sommerville (200-F-82, college: Bradley) answered with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Alex Acker (196-G-83, agency: Two Points, college: Pepperdine) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Le Mans. Taylor Rochestie (185-PG-85, college: Washington St.) and Paulo Batista followed them with 10 points in the losing effort.
Chalon won the second trophy this season. After victory at 'Semaine des As' in February, Chalon celebrated also in 'Coupe de France'. They outplayed Limoges last night 83-75 and actually defended the French Cup trophy which they won last year. Ilian Evtimov (201-F-83, agency: Interperformances, college: N.Carolina St.) was the leading player in victory with 28 points and 7 rebounds. He was MVP of the Big Final. Blake Schilb (200-F/G-83, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices, college: Loyola, IL) secured a great help with 24 points and 5 assists, while Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89, college: Virginia Tech) added 13 points and 6 rebs. In the loosing squad, Raphael Desroses (199-SF-80) answered with 13 points and 6 boards. Christophe Massie (206-C/F-77, agency: Court Side, college: Memphis) had double-double of 12 points and 11 rebs, and Joseph Gomis (180-G-78) netted 11 pts. Third quarter was the crucial one last night. Chalon was up by 6 at the halftime and totally took control on Limoges after that to create 26-14 in Q3 for 70-52 lead. That was too much for Limoges, who only cut the margin to 8 points for rest of the game. Ends of periods: 28-21, 44-38, 70-52, 83-75. Same teams met a year ago in the French Cup Finals and Chalon was better than Limoges 79-71.
ProA All-Star Game took place at the Bercy arena in Paris last Thursday. French players celebrated 130-123 victory against foreigners in this spectacle. Amara Sy (202-F-81) shined for the winners with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He was named MVP of this event. Adrien Moreman also was great adding 22 points and 11 rebs, while Charles Kahudi (197-F-86, agency: Beo Basket) followed them with 15 points and 7 rebs. In the loosing squad, Lamont Hamilton (208-C/F-84, college: St.John's) collected 21 points and 6 rebs. Alade Aminu (207-C/F-87, college: Georgia Tech) scored 15 and Jawad Williams (204-F-83, college: N.Carolina) netted 13 pts. Quarters: 37-39, 28-31, 26-34, 39-19. Xavier Corosine (17 pts) is the winner of 3-point shootout. He was better than Kyle McAlarney (15 pts) in the Finals. Leo Westermann won the skills contest at Bercy. At the same time, Westermann was the youngest participant at this event.

Chalon/Saone is the winner of 2012 Semaine des As. They dethroned Gravelines tonight with 66-73 victory in the Big Final. Last year Gravelines was better than Chalon 79-71 to win this trophy. Steed Tchicamboud (193-G-81) was the leading player for Chalon tonight with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Blake Schilb (200-F/G-83, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices, college: Loyola, IL) had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while Alade Aminu (207-C/F-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 13 points and 8 boards. At the other side, Yannick Bokolo (190-G-85) (6 rebs) and Juby Johnson (196-G-81, college: Miami, OH) netted 13 points each. J.K. Edwards (202-C/F-82, college: UNLV) stopped to 11 points and 5 rebs. Quarters: 13-20, 16-15, 13-17, 24-21. Blake Schilb is named the MVP of Semaine des As 2012. Chalon eliminated Paris-Levallois in the Quarterfinals 92-84. In the Semis they blasted Nancy 106-66. The tournament was played in Roanne.
