It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in BBL, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Round 5 in BBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Oldenburg where host EWE Baskets (1-4) crushed league's leader Gladiators (4-1) 108-85 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gladiators. Oldenburg made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American-Central African point guard Chris Clemons (175-1997, college: Campbell, agency: JCK Sports Group) who scored 52 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American guard Brian Fobbs (196-1998, college: Towson) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. American-Irish guard Eli Brooks (185-1998, college: Michigan) produced 22 points and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. EWE Baskets left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Braunschweig and Heidelberg. Newly promoted Trier dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Wuerzburg. They were replaced at the leadership position by Weissenfels. Trier will play next round against Vechta trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Dusan Neskovic contributed with 14 points for the winners. Canadian guard Marcus Carr (188-1999, college: Texas) answered with 11 points and 5 assists for Wuerzburg. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MLP Academics Heidelberg (1-4) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Braunschweig and Oldenburg. Wuerzburg at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Trier.
